I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me.....

Anointed?

After Christ left the earth, He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16). Now all Christians are anointed, chosen for a specific purpose in furthering God's Kingdom (1 John 2:20).

"Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee" (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

"What is the anointing? What does it mean to be anointed?"
  -----
Praise God for the anointing of the Holy Spirit! Without it our walk is just one foot in front of the other.

Morning Thoughts

You know how you wash your hands before eating supper, so as not to contaminate the food? Well, reading the Word before sleep washes the soul of contamination we've been exposed to through the day.
When I'm upset or down, I'll go straight to the red.
Some times I'm too tired to read, when a few days of that goes by, my attitude becomes a little (a lot) on the "worldly" side.
It's as though it's a law-God's word, like gravity. There's nothing you can do to change that law. You can only become a part of it.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it.

Pistol Packin' "Christians"

This is the way of the world:

Are Christians who take up arms against the world  "extremist" ?
Why preach "love" while packing heat? Darkness and light have nothing in common.
Faith backed up with a gun is not Faith. It is FEAR ... of man.
Fear of what man can do "to you" is the opposite of believing what God can do for you.
A Christian's weapon should be the sword, (Ephesians 6:17) the word. The weapon that changes lives, not destroy a life!

This is the way of the Lord:

Ephesians 6:17

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Fear? This is the way of the Lord:

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 12:5
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
When the lost see the light in you, let us hope it is the light of Christ, Son of God, and not the sunshine hitting the chrome of your pistol.

Fractured Witness

If we are promoting factions and political parties above our witness for Christ then we have drawn a dividing line between ourselves and the gospel. We have ultimately fractured our witness.

Galatians 5:20-26

New King James Version (NKJV)
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[a] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

(New American Standard)

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control ; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another
